I’m pretty much always in the mood for a good romantic comedy, because I like to laugh and also, I have a pretty short attention span LOL. I love a good 90-minute-or-less flick. If I have to sit for longer than that, the movie better be Titantic level epic.
I’ve rounded up some of my all time favorites to share with you, I have personally seen every movie on this list, and more importantly – I would watch each of them again.
Happy movie night!

#1 13 Going on 30
Jennifer Garner is perfectly cast as Jenna, a 13-year-old girl that wakes up as her 30-year-old self. 13 Going on 30 is charming, nostalgic and funny. A really good family movie (recommended for ages 12 and up).

#2 Enchanted
Another great one for the whole family, this stars Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey. Adams is great as Giselle, a singing and dancing soon-to-be princess from the fairy tale kingdom of Andalasia. Chaos and romance ensue when Gisells suddenly finds herself transported to modern-day New York City.

#3 My Best Friend’s Wedding
Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, and Cameron Diaz star in this love triangle of friendship, jealousy, and a little wedding sabotage.

#4 Love Actually
I literally watch this every single December, and though it’s a Christmas-themed comedy, it’s funny any time of the year! The movie features a huge ensemble cast, including Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson and follows 10 separate love stories, which come together throughout the film.

#5 Juno
Juno is a coming-of-age film about a teenager coming to terms with an unplanned pregnancy. It’s funny, sweet, and well-written and acted by its stars Elliot Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Alison Janney, and J.K. Simmons.

#6 The Wedding Singer
True confession: I’m not a huge fan of most Adam Sandler movies, I usually find him a little too silly. The Wedding Singer is an exception, and I’ve probably seen it ten times. He stars with Drew Barrymore, adorable as usual, in this Rom-Com that has both humor and heart.

#7 27 Dresses
Katherine Heigl stars in this RomCom depicting the “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride” cliche, about a girl who has been a bridesmaid in 27 weddings. Super cute movie with a feel-good ending.

#8 Can’t Buy Me Love
As a teen growing up in the 80’s this movie was everything. And it’s still one of my all-time favs. Also one of the few 80’s movies I’ve made all three of my teens watch that they’ve actually liked! Patrick Dempsey is adorable as nerdy Ronald Miller who pays a popular cheerleader $1000 to pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. Rom-Com perfection ensues.

#9 When Harry Met Sally (1989)
Ok, ok, I know you’ve probably already seen it but how could I make a list of Rom-Coms and not include When Harry Met Sally? It’s a classic and it’s still funny 30 years later. Who could possibly forget “I’ll have what she’s having” in the diner scene?? It was filmed at Katz’s Delicatessen in New York City, where they currently have a sign dangling from the ceiling reading, “Where Harry met Sally…Hope you have what she had!” LOL

#10 Bridesmaids
Fun fact about Bridesmaids: my husband grew up with the woman that co-wrote it. Another fun fact: I’m pretty sure I remember literally falling out of my seat at the movie theatre while watching it. It is raunchy, gross at times (anyone remember the bridal shop scene??), and unequivocally hilarious. Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph star and their comic genius shines through. And Melissa McCarthy steals the show, as usual.

#11 Say Anything
This movie was once deemed “the greatest modern movie romance” by Entertainment Weekly. It stars John Cusack as Lloyd Dobler (even his name is great) as an average teen who falls for the over-achieving high school valedictorian. I will never hear the song “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel without picturing Lloyd Dobler and his boom box. Just an all around great movie.

#12 Knocked Up
Starring the funny Seth Rogan and Katherine Heigl, this movie is about what happens after a one-night stand results in an unintended pregnancy.

#13 Yesterday
I feel like not a lot of people know about this one, but it’s really good! It’s about a struggling musician who wakes up one day and realizes that he is the only person who has ever heard of the Beatles. He begins recording their songs as his own, becoming super famous in the process. The movie was great, but if you’re a Beatles fan, the soundtrack is even better.
#14 The Big Sick
Loved this one…check out the trailer here:
#15 The Holiday
Another one I watch every Christmas, this stars Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black…
#16 To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
My teenage daughter watched this one over and over and so I finally watched it with her and it was actually adorable…
#17 My Big Fat Greek Wedding
This is basically a movie about my family, except we are Italian instead of Greek. I married a non-Italian and brought him into my crazy, loud, large Italian bunch, just like what happens to John Corbett in the movie. The movie was written by Nia Vardalos, who also stars, and the writing is fabulous. Fun fact: My Big Fat Greek Wedding became the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, grossing $241 million in North America, despite NEVER reaching number one at the box office. It was the highest-grossing film with that distinction for 14 years, until Sing grossed 268 million in 2016. Anyway, it’s a great, fun, family movie and if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it!
#18 I Want You Back
The newest movie on my list, I watched recently and was pleasantly surprised. It stars Jenny Slate and Charlie Day, both recently dumped by their significant others, who hatch a plan together to get them back. A sweet little film – check out the trailer here…
