When my kids were babies and toddlers and I was a stay-at-home mom, my husband called me the “coupon queen”. If it wasn’t on sale or I didn’t have a coupon, I wasn’t buying it.
There was a grocery store near our house back then that used to double coupons, even the dollar ones. I would wait until products went on sale to use my coupons and would frequently get $2.00 off a $2.00 product – I don’t think we paid a dime for toothpaste or deodorant for five years.
It wasn’t unusual for me to save 80% off our grocery bill. I practically could’ve been on one of those extreme couponing reality shows LOL.
But, alas, times have changed…stores are not doubling coupons and toiletries are no longer $2.00. Boo hoo.
However, I still love a bargain. If you compliment my shirt, my response will likely be, “Costco! Eight bucks on clearance!” Because I also cannot resist TALKING about a bargain.
Enjoy my tweet round-up, my money saving friends!
